Who is this guy???

Geesh .... what a tough audience. Way back, late in the Eisenhower era, I was born Garry Richard Jiry in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. However, sometime in the early 70's I became known as Otis, grew up, and moved to Louisiana. I found you just CAN'T get any decent boiled crawfish anywhere but southern Louisiana. And, if you are a football fanatic as I most certainly am, well ... moving was a no brainer

Good question.

Let's see .... I am a PC/Network tech by trade with varied skills having worked with DOS, Windows 3.x, Win95/98/NT, and a very small smattering of UNIX. Throw in some Novell network experience with my CNA (3.12), plus some cabling, server and workstation installs, along with user support and other things in between and you can see I've done a bit of everything along the way. Institutional experience ranges from educational settings, legal firms to medical work sites.

At the present time I'm involved in pursuing my MCSE in Windows 2000.

On the non-technical end of the spectrum,I would have to say my strong points are that I am honest, responsible, and reliable, a team player with good organizational/management skills, and have the ability to work unsupervised while providing excellent production. I don't mind working long and hard to get the job done. My career background shows I'm resourceful, and inventive with an eye for detail. When given a problem, I am sufficiently intrigued to find a solution, regardless of what it requires. Being curious, I always like to know the how's and why's of a situation.

Yes, you could say I've had a few .... or at least done a few other things in the past aside from Computing.

A million years ago, when I was young and spry I used to be a bit of an athlete, to the point of having aspirations of playing with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League. After coming to the realization there wasn't much room for 5 foot 10 inch recievers with 4.9 speed in the 40 yard dash, I found sports broadcasting to be a tad easier on the body.
